Great deal

This is my 3rd HP laptop, as I've had good luck with them in the past (the others still work, just became obsolete over time). Keeping in mind the ever evolving computer market, the amount of computer you get for the money in this laptop is incomparable. I did my research and snagged this one when it was even less than the price I see today ($629.99 for mine). A week later it was $100 more. I thought it seemed like a good deal. The i3 processor is more than sufficient for everything I've tried so far, including pretty intensive graphics work. 

The only thing I can see that's missing is a Blu-Ray DVD player/burner, but for $600 and change, I didn't expect one anyway. Complaining that this laptop runs the 64-bit version of Windows 7, when it says so in the description, then giving it a low rating because of that, seems like the wrong item is being penalized. Nearly any PC you purchase now comes with Windows 7, and most are shipping with 64-bit. Ask the manufacturers of your peripherals to give you 64-bit drivers. I haven't found anything that doesn't work with 64-bit, but with more 64 bit computers coming out, new drivers have to be following shortly. 

The only other negative I've seen is because I wanted a 15" screen - the laptop is wide! My 15" Macbook pro fits into the computer sleeve of my computer bag, but this one doesn't. It's not that the laptop is thick, it's just wider than the 15" Macbook Pro. Overall, the features can't be beat for the price, so I highly recommend this laptop.

Great laptop and great price:)

This is my 5th laptop purchase in 10 years and 2nd HP product. One was stolen, one given to daughter, one replaced the one given to daughter after the 2nd time she dropped it on the ground, one was for husband, and this one is all mine!) Everything about it surpassed my expectations. Setup was easy and easily connected to my home wireless (and the neighbor's unprotected account!) I think people may be having problems with the wireless because they put their finger/hand over the little blue lit icon which turns it off and they may not realize they are doing this. I love typing on it and really appreciate the number keys on the right side of the keyboard. (I do a lot of school lessons and grade inputting). I have had it for a couple of weeks and so far so good. Webcam feature works like a charm, also and I love watching TV programs on it.

I was soooooooo exasperated...

...when I difficulties getting this laptop to connect to my wireless network. 

It worked initially. 

Then it failed. 

The REVIEWS led me to believe there was something inherently wrong with the device. 

But guess what - it was an input error on my part. Why it connected in the BEGINNING remains a mystery. 

Except for this one issue it has been super-fast and the setup was super-easy. I like its looks and feel - in every respect. 

If love turns to hate I'll come back and amend this review but right now...it's love.

Great Laptop, so far.

I got this laptop for a week now, i think it is to early to say, but it is running great so far. I bought it with an Amazing price $629.99. If you add this to your wish list, it will be easier for you too see the price change constantly. The laptop is Amazing. It is a real man laptop. Who needs them small laptops where you can even see anything on it. This is a HD huge scree laptop. With 4gB of ram, it is faster then Lamborghini. I do so much work, in so much less time. I love it, i love it, i love it. Write now i am typing with it, and the keyboard is awesome. Someone rated this laptop 3 start because of the wireless, but i don't have any problem at all with my wireless. If you look at the low star comments for this product, most of them reviews are not even specifically on the DV6 laptop. People come here, give one star to this laptop, saying they bought a HP laptop and it works bad and all, but a different model and version, it does not make sense. I would strongly recommend this laptop to anybody. Write now i only had it for a week, but i will keep you guys updated.

Nice Notebook

Computer works just fine and is fast compared to my old one. I use the computer for websurfing, email, school, watching movies, and listening to music. For these tasks I am happy with my purchase and the computer's performance. No problems, so far, with the actual computer. My only complaint is in regards to the 60 day Microsoft Office trial that comes with the computer. After using it one time(only a few days after I bought the computer) the trial expired. Not exactly what I would call a 60 day trial.
